As a registered nurse, working long hours with minimal breaks helped contribute to habits that were not the healthiest. This is, sadly, a common theme among nurses, which helps contribute to physical health problems, emotional strain, and burnout. After recognizing the negative effects of my poor habits, I decided that it was time to become an example to my patients, and to help promote healthy practices not just among nurses, but for everyone.
